Again i love it...was wondering...the Lampshades in the Bedroom.....are they special or expensive...if you could alter them slightly...maybe add something around the Bottom rim? They would then be more 'offset' from the Headboard but still match the Room....remembering any saftey precautions of course

I live at the thrift shops I'm alwats bringing something home to redo. For some reason i keep running across bread boxes. I have 6 now. Our church is having a fall sale maybe i will do them up for that who knows.

   I never even thought of using those old type of Xmas balls to make the rag balls!!!!  Here I was buying the balls from Walmart!!!!!   Fool and his money are soon parted!!!!  That's me!  Thanks for the great idea!!!!  Maybe I can save some money to buy more stuff!!!! LOL!!!

Now i think i ready to roll. Went and got my paint that i needed for my thrift shop projects,doing lots for fall and winter decor.Will post before and after.

I found it on Craigslist for a great buy! I am still trying to find just the right thing to hang on it. I love it, it's one of my favorite pieces. I don't think it would be difficult to make one, but I don't have room for anymore, I already have two other ones, not like that one, but you get the idea? You could start out with a smaller item first and gain confidence in your ability with the tools, then you could try your hand at something larger.

First of all, Welcome to the forum! So, you are wanting the bottom to be an open space underneath? You could take posts the same size as the four legs of the top, but I'd add 4 more around the other sides~that way there would be more support and it would frame a door of sorts for one of the sides. Then I'd take 1x6-1x8 boards and place them on top of the posts to make a sort of faux wall. If I could draw it, I would, basically, it would look like a big, upside down U shape, but boxed in. I'd take the 1x's and cut them to fit next to all the posts all the way around and underneath for added support. Screw them from the topsides of the 1x's that are on TOP of the posts. I hope this makes sense. Make sure to predrill your holes and I'd use at least two and a half inch long screws.

Clutterbug, the candlesticks ar painted with "Blue Coal" from Lowes, the paint I used on my kitchen cabinets, over a dark red. I sanded a bit and added a mahogany stain on top. I'm just using supplies that I have on hand for now. I think I will be purchasing a gal of black paint soon, I have a desk I want to prim!

I think I used the Kilz too, just make sure it says for shiny surfaces. Good luck!

Cute horse. I know they are so popular in country decor. Since I live in horse country here in central KY, I've been thinking about that. But I haven't seen one yet that's prim enough. We are heading out to a new mall near Louisville next week. I'll keep looking.

I just added my logo to my posts so you can see what it looks like.  I have a prim checkered border that goes around it.  This is a modification to my logo.  The other file was too big to post.  I'm leaning towards making it a "store" table since I have no plans of selling it.  If I do this I'll post pictures

What a sweetie Brandon is!!!   You hit the jackpot and the prices were great.  I went to Michaels, Gordmans and Garden Ridge yesterday.  Came home with nothing......I must be sick!!!  But nothing hit me, so sure saved the old pocketbook.
