<root>
How do you guys figure out which fabrics go well together by just using a swatch? I posted on Nicki's thread, but haven't heard back from her.

I really don't know what to do and feel stupid. Ugh.

<root>
Lisa, What does your "gut" tell you? Sometimes, it's best to go with your instinct, whatever you're drawn to the most is the one I would go with. If you are liking the "Coined" fabric, then that's what you should get. Remember~ patterns can be either toned down or made to "pop" with accessories, so you can change the feel of your whole room by doing this.

These are expensive investments(JB)~I would go with my instincts, you are the one that has to love it. What I am trying to say is this, it's your home, you have to love what you are coming home to, we will like it no matter what you do. You have a good eye, you will make the right choice!
</root>

Lisa, I really don't even think I am very good at this. I have some quilting friends who are much better. It really is just trial and error. You go with your gut and what you like. Sorry I can't be of more help than that, and I am sure that isn't what you wanted to hear. Good Luck!

Cindy

<root>
I have no clue to this either. I just use solids and feel it's very boring but I can't get plaids and prints to match.

Someone told me one time they use a color in one fabric and match the other prints to the same colors in the other prints. Said just make sure the same colors are in all the prints. easier said than done for me. lol

<root>
Thank you all for your responses. This truly is a hard thing for me to do, especially since once I order the furniture, it is not returnable.

Even with all the swatches I have, I'm still confused. But you guys are right - I need to go with my gut and right now, I'm looking at a fabric that is a navy check and not even one of the swatches I requested. Go figure.

I sure do appreciate your input and suggestions.

<root>
Hi Lisa: regarding the sofa I think exposed legs are surely less formal and give an idea of "more space"

<root>
I ordered the couch without the skirt. Have a dog who loves to rub his head against the skirt of our current couch, so I'm glad I ordered one without.

Thanks so much for your wonderful suggestions.
