I know I read somewhere here that someone got a twig tree at a garage sale and I believe Karen said she had one, too.  I have never seen these types of trees so I checked them out on the internet and they are really cute.  Any suggestions on the best place to order one.  I think I would just like a tabletop sized one.  Thanks.

Dear Primlover - thanks so much.  They are so cute.

May I ask - how do you post a link to these threads?  I tried doing it yesterday with no luck.  Thank you.

Sure Lisa, when you click on the add reply button and the section pops up for you to type, there is a hyper link manager right after the spell check button. You just click on that and type in your url in the first box and then hit ok...easy as pie wink!

Hey!  I like these twig trees!  Have never seen them before!  Here's a dumb question ... do you just have them on display "au natural" or do you decorate them with something?

Blessings,

Shirlee

Wow, great site for the trees.

I love my tree and especially because a lot of brown shows through from the branches and some of the greenery has brown in it....it's so primitive looking

Here's mine from our In-Home Show last year....

HERE'S A CLOSEUP OF IT AFTER WE ADDED OTHER THINGS FOR OUR OWN USE:

Here's our table top tree just like it:

I need to find a couple small ones for myself too - think I'll go back and check out the site again.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, so gorgeous.  I was only going to get a tabletop tree, but I have a narrow place in my house for my Christmas tree and the one I have now is too big, so maybe I should get one of these.  Karen/Blondie, what size trees do you have?

Karen, did you have a home tour for Christmas?  If so, I bet it was fabulous - wish I could have come.  We have Christmas home tours here but the houses are all decorated by decorating services and most of them are gaudy and I really don't like them, so I quit going.

Karen, I just ordered a couple of things from your store.  Can't wait to get them.

I'm the one who got one at a garage sale for $20.  They had lights on mine when I bought it, but they are the silicon green cord type.  May have to invest in some brown corded ones.  Not sure how many I would need though.  The tree is 8 1/2 feet tall.  My only suggestion when you order one is to check and make sure how tall your ceilings are, and take into consideration if you want a tree topper.  I won't be able to have a tree topper this year.  Good luck with your tree!

Lisa, my main tree is 7-1/2 foot and it came pre-lit so we didn't have to mess with that and we just store it in the basement all year.

The table top is approx. 3-1/2 foot.

I do an IN-HOME SHOW every weekend following Thanksgiving with my products (Penny Rugs and more) and then all year long I purchase merchandise from Wholesale places and from the Market Square shows to add to my show.

I have my entire home set up like a store (keeping most of our regular things in place) and it's a ton of fun....ask a few of the girls they were here last year.

AND I'M HOPING TO SEE MORE OF YOU THIS YEAR....you have fair warning of the date!

FRIDAY NIGHT 4-8, SATURDAY 9-5, SUNDAY NOON TO 4.

I have two twig trees and love them.  I have been looking for the garland.  The site is really nice.  Hopefully, I can order some of the garland.  ~Dan~

I have some too and just love them. When I had my grandson get a taller one down for me from the attic, he kept saying Grammy are you sure you just want this skinny tree, don't you want me to get a fatter and bigger one for you but when I got it all decorated everyone loved it. I got rid of all my fatter and bigger trees. LOL LOVE my skinny ones.

We put a skinny tree up for Christmas last year, and I will definately be putting it up again this year! It was the right size for in our small livingroom, and it didn't take up very much space at all! happy I like the idea that it didn't take forever for me to decorate it too!cool

The same day this post first showed up John & I went for ice cream & there is a prim shop just down the street so we stopped by & there it was ... a little twig tree!  Needless to say it came home with me along with a few other things from the shop   : )   I will take a photo to share ... maybe today   : )

One problem is that one of the lights isn't lit.  You really don't notice it because they are so tiny & on a brown cord so it all kind of blends in with the tree but are there such things as replacement bulbs for these light strings?

I would love to have a larger tree to put up for Christmas but John & I have been purchasing German blown glass & Hallmark ornaments since we first got married 33 years ago.  Although I haven't said anything to John I've been thinking about how can I have a prim look with a huge full tree (7-1/2') packed with hundreds of ornaments.  There are actually too many of each ornament type to put them on the tree together so one year we'll do all blown glass & then the next year all Hallmark.  I know a prim tree will go over like a lead balloon if I mention doing such a thing so at Christmastime our house will probably look like Little House on the Prairie meets Macy's.

Blessings,

Shirlee

Dear Shirlee, I used to try to have themes for my Christmas tree and then one year I just realized that I was putting ornaments on the tree to keep up with a theme rather than with the spirit of Christmas.  Now I put the ornaments that mean something to me and don't worry if it doesn't look right.  I think your Christmas tree or trees will look beautiful no matter what you put on them - Hallmark or primitive or Macy's - whatever you love is what it's all about.

I am glad you found the primitive tree - it was meant to be.  I'm going to order one for this Christmas - I think they are lovely.  Enjoy your great find.

Aren't the twig trees awesome? They can look so amazing, and don't take up tons of space. I have two of the six footers, it will be fun to decorate them.

FINALLY got a picture of the twig tree I found   happy   In the store it was displayed in that old enamel pot & I thought it looked so cute that I bought that too.  I'm hoping this will look good displayed on the dry sink I am wanting.  I hope I can find a 6 or 7 footer for Christmas.  I think the Hallmarks or the blown glass ornaments will work with that.

Blessings,

Shirlee

I was at a florist shop yesterday and they had these trees.  I just want to be sure it is the same thing.  There are twigs interspersed within the green branches, right?

They were priced kind of high, so I will wait until the ones at kpcreek are once again available.  I just love these trees.

I hope you can get some Lisa, they ARE great trees! I can't wait to get ours decorated this year. Yes, they have twigs interspersed throughout them. I have two 6 footers, I'd like to get a 3 or 4 footer at some point here. They are just great for fitting in smaller spaces.

Well, I went back to get the twig tree and it was gone.  It was a small tabletop one, but it was really cute.  She isn't planning on getting anymore.

I've been looking online but I can't find one that is pre-lit.  All the twig trees I've found are not pre-lit.  I just don't want to go through the hassle of adding the lights as DH and I usually end up having a little disagreement about it all.

I'll keep looking.  Please share if you know of a place that sells them pre-lit.  Thanks again.

Lisa, this place seems to have them, but they aren't prelit...

http://www.kpcreek.com/German-Twig-Trees-Garland-Wreaths-C13.aspx

I think I'd get one that wasn't prelit if it meant that I'd still be able to have a beautiful twig Christmas tree!happy They sure are pretty! If I had the extra room, I'd check into getting one for our home!  I did see where Target had them, but I don't think they have anymore in stock...  Good luck with your search!!

Thanks for your input.  Believe it or not, I was at Home Depot yesterday and found a tree that is very similar to the twig trees online.  So I'm going to get it, I'm pretty sure.

As soon as KP Creek gets the 7 foot trees in stock, I'll order from them - their prices are really good.  I'll take the time to put the lights on it and then just keep them on when I store it.

Went on grandinroad.com and they had some really nice pre-lit trees, but yikes, were some of them expensive.

Thanks a bunch once again for your responses.

WOW you gals really know how to decorate a tree! There are some really pretty trees here! I want one of these tall thin trees myself. Maybe after Christmas when they all go on sale I can get me one. I have bought soooo many trees in the past I feel quilty buying yet another one. BUT I do think this one will fit the bill for me because it really needs to NOT TAKE UP SPACE! LOL

Lisa, Now I am going to have to go to Home Depot and look to see what kind of trees they have out of curiousity.  I need to look for that Briwax everyone is talking about anyway so maybe tomorrow.

Thank you Sue, both of my photos are of the same tree just different years. It is a Gatlinburg Tree that I got brand new at a yard sale for $10.00. The hang tag was still on it with the name of the tree and that's the only reason I know what it is. I call it a Charlie Brown tree. The list of names and the price range on theses trees is amazing!

 Gatlinburg,

 Stick,

Twig,

Alpine Skinny,

Wood Trunk,

Vienna Twig,

And my favorite, Yodel-Lay-Hee-Hoo Alpine which is a set of three for $259 on sale for $179.

Most 6ft ones run around $39. and there are every price in between! Hobby Lobby has one that looks like mine for around $89 for the 6ft, smaller ones run less. I hope to get another 6ft one after Christmas when they go on sale. I let my daughter borrow mine last year and she fell in love with it so now I want another for me. I hope you find what you are looking for.

Do not follow where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

I was at some little store the other day that was going out of business they had a 5ft, regular price was 59.99 by the time I checked out with all the discounts I ended up paying 5.99 for it. I took it home and put it in an old milk can and have it in my kitchen with all old kitchen utinsels and gingerbreads, its adorable.
