Hi, Sorry for the long absence. I continue to be really weak and tired, but I do seem some better. Today is our 19th wedding anniversary and DH took me to Cracker Barrel. I love Cracker Barrel. it really seemed like a lot of food today though. I have actually been awake a couple of hours now. That's a pretty big achievement for me. It seems like forever since I left the house. Now I understand how my 15 yo DS felt. When he had the swine flu he wanted me to buy him something from Taco Bell, but also just wanted to go for a ride in the van. I also continue to cough. Simple things like taking a shower really takes a toll. I take a shower and then I am so weak I have to sleep the next four hours. I am really tired of being sick! I'll try to be checking the forum periodically now. Thanks for all your prayers, good wishes and concerns. You have no idea how much it means to me. {{{Hugs}}} Cindy

Cindy, good to hear that you are doing somewhat better! Yes, and like the others have already mentioned in their posts, do get plenty of rest and take real good care of yourself! Don't get yourself run way down, as we don't want you to come down with P- neumonia! Have you in my thoughts and prayers Cindy for a speedy recovery!

I hope you will feel better soon. This flu is really kicking $ss this season. My dd has the flu and one of my gdaughters (5) has the swine flu. I couldn't get my flu shot as the drs office ran out of them. I was told that if I find someplace that's offering them to go ahead and take it.

Cindy - you poor thing. How much for illness can your house stand.
When you are well and things get back to normal you will have to air the house out good! Don't let those bad boys back in!!!!
This stuff can kick butt so PLEASE LAY LOW AND DON'T RUSH IT - YOUR BODY WILL SAY WHEN IT'S TIME TO get on with the NORMAL.
Hugs, Karen

Cindy glad to hear that you are getting a little better but do take it easy and don't try to to rush a recovery. I pray your family will all be back to normal soon. This flu is awful stuff and just seems to really knock you down flat for quite a while.

I'm checking in kind of late tonight. I just took some cough med, but this coughing is getting really annoying. I am hoping the med kicks in soon so I can sleep and I don't keep everyone else up too. Everyone else in my house is doing good. The kids are to get the HINI shot on Saturday. Even though they are sure the boys had it, since they don't do the specific test, you can't know for sure. My doctor made a comment though when I took DH in saying that if you got the swine flu that you wouldn't get it again THIS FLU SEASON. Oh no, I sure hope this isn't going to be going around every year. I really don't want this ever again. Good Night! Cindy

I am about the same. A group I go to at the library met yesterday and I didn't go because I was just too weak. I did go to quilt group today. I hadn't been in three weeks. I didn't take my sewing machine though as I was still too weak to lug it around. I am glad I went though. Since Blondie said it took a month for her to get over it, I kind of have an idea it will just be a while. Sometimes I feel like I am moving in slow motion. My kids seemed to have bounced back quicker, I guess that's the pitfall of getting older. Cindy

Oh Cindy I am so sorry you're not feeling well. I just saw that you weren't and I will also be praying you get better really really soon and get your strength back fast as well. I wasn't feeling well at all last night and I went to bed at 8 something which I just do not ever do. When I went in the living room and told DH I was going to bed he said WHAT? Yep I'm going to bed I'm really tired. Did that last week to though and it was like at 6!!!! My sister has some kind of sinus, coughing, sore throat crud and I was around her on Sat. since we were giving her a surprise birthday party. She said she ran fever with it later that night. She sounds horrible! And I had already invited her to come tonight and let me feed her dinner for her birthday. oh dear...... taking c's like crazy AND echinasa sp? to! lol She seems to be feeling better on Monday but said she stayed in bed all day on Sunday.
Get well and like the others said, don't push it because you don't want to be sick again so soon!!! Pace yourself and don't over do. Yep it's VERY HARD! But you CAN do it!!

This stuff seems to linger on. My friends' son had it, and it took him a month to get back to normal again.
I am sure it's hard for you to just take it easy, but you should. I know, getting older stinks doesn't it? I have noticed that my stamina isn't what it once was, and I don't like it! LOL! My mom says, wait until you get in your fifties, it gets even better~NOT! LOL!
You take care of yourself friend! Drink plenty of tea. I have stockpiled on Airbornes. I drink them everyday.

Hi All, You all are THE BEST!!!!! I am doing okay. I went to Aldis a few days ago to pick up essentials like break, milk and eggs and got really week. Thought I was going to pass out. I didn't and made it back home safely. The day before I thought I was doing a bit better. Then this week I was feeling a bit more like regular self, and now I seem to be going the other way again. I am not nearly as weak as I was, but now I have started coughing again and I have sinus drainage. So I really don't know what is going on. Everyone else in my family is doing fine. Thankfully. This has been strange as DD is usually sick a lot and she usually brings everything home, well, she is the only one (other than the dog) who didn't get the swine flu. Go figure! I also have a cousin who had breast cancer several years ago and is having problems now and her bloodwork is showing she has cancer again, but the doctor's can't find it. She is substitute teaching at a high school. Her husband got the swine flu and was sick with a fever with it for 3 weeks. Both her grandchildren had it. Somehow, thank god, she hasn't came down with it yet. I really don't understand this flu strain.
Another reason I haven't been on much this weeks is the roof is leaking again. It started to rain on Monday and we have had over 3 inches so far. It is leaking in DD's room. It leaked several weeks ago and DH thought he had it fixed. It rained after that and all was dry. Well now it is leaking again. Of course, DH was at work at the time. I was afraid the ceiling was going to fall so I moved her mattress, and box springs out of her room. She has an old antique iron bed and I took it apart and put it next to the wall. So my house is in disarray and next week is Thanksgiving. Not really a big deal. It will just be us and my sister. Of course, the kids want me to decorate for Christmas and the house is a mess. Plus, the basement is still a mess from the leaking water heater and the wall leaking. DH ordered stuff to fix the wall. It should be in hopefully on Friday. So this weekend, poor guy, has to try to fix the roof and the basement wall before it starts raining again on Monday. It is suppose to finally stop tomorrow evening.
Thanks for thinking of me. I am hoping to be back to normal sometime soon. Cindy

Oh dear, I am sooo sorry your home is leaking! Here I was whining on my blog about all my clutter and disarray and the unfinished bedroom and your home is leaking. Man I hope your DH gets it fixed soon! I sure hope he can put a tarp on there until he can get it fixed so the water wont damage anything.
Get well and please take it easy and don't over do because you will replapse. Are you taking any vitamins or any kind? I know when I don't take mine I can really tell it. I have started taking more C's and also echnasha sp? as well.
