I started her on Thursday, but then life got in the way.  I was working on her when I got the call from DS's friend that he had gotten hurt.  I really had aniticipated getting her done on Thursday.

She is a pattern out of the new Mercantile Gatherings.  They called for I think "raw flax" or something for her hair that I couldn't find, so I used some wool roving that I had on my spinning wheel.

Marieshtude, I got the spinning wheel off of Craigslist.  It was handmade by the lady's great uncle.  I have always been fascinated with them even as a child.  Mine doesn't have all the parts so I can't actually spin.  It is for show only.  I bought some wool roving at a local quilt store that also sells wool for hooking rugs, penny rugs etc.... and I just draped it on there to make it look good.  I saw that someone did it in a pic some place.

Your family doesn't know an awesome witch when they see one!!  Love everything in your picture.  How is your DS?  You said he got hurt.  Hope he is ok.

Thanks!  I knew you all would appreciate Zelda.  I still think she's cute.

Neicie,  I did make the other items too.  I wanted to get more things made, but I am really not sure it will get done before Halloween at this point.  Life is just getting in the way here.

Kristi,  Thanks for asking about my DS.  He will get the hard cast taken off on the 19th and then will have to have it in a splint for a week.  However, the hard cast started to unpeel yesterday while he was at a cross country meet.  Even though he can't run, he helps out the coach and is there to cheer on the team.  So I wrapped duck tape around the part that is unpeeling.  Hopefully it will get it from getting worse for the next week.

Zelda and I seem to be sharing the same "bad hair day" today!!!  LOL!!!  She is cute, but being a shoe gal myself, those shoes are screaming out to me!!!   Love them!!  And I also really like that pumpkin, too!!  You did a great job on everything!  I am trying to get my nerve up to make a simple little Christmas pillow.  I'll let you know how that goes.  I can crochet the heck out of some yarn, but sewing, eh, I'm not too sure about!!  So we shall see.

Glad to hear that your DS is doing o.k.  Casts are boogers!!!!

Hugs,

~Donna~

Donna, That's the nice thing about prims, they are suppose to look prim.  If they aren't perfect, no-one will know.  So they are a good thing to start practicing sewing on.  Can't wait to your pillow when you get it done.

I really wanted to get some other things made for Halloween, but it's just not going to happen.  Life got in the way.  I am working on a little Halloween quilt/table mat/wall hanging thing.  I started it two weeks ago, just before the swine flu came to my house (unwelcome guest.....I wish it would just leave  LOL)  Anyway, guess I will have it done for next year.
