My sisters are going to paint our parents' countertop with this RustOleum product:

It comes in 15 colors and sounds like a great idea.  What do you think?

Punky-

I know nothing about it, but please share the results with us.  I am interested in painting my countertops too!

Punky,

Please let me know how this turns out. I just painted my countertop in kitchen (second time) and then polyed but I painted them black (which I like) but it shows watermarks. When I had them painted red, I didn't notice them if they were there. This sounds like you just paint and don't have to seal them. Is that the way you understand it?  I would be interested in what color and how easy it was to put on.

Hugs,

Connie

I've seen this in stores and was thinking about doing it. Let us know how it turns out.

Punky,

I actually used this paint on our countertops about 6 mths ago.  We wanted a black color which is not on the box but the person at Lowe's was nice enough to add extra tint to make it darker.  It's not a true black but it is nice.  Anyway, it works great, we had to put 2 coats on.  make sure your countertop is VERY clean , I have a couple nicks in mine now but I think there must have been something still on the counter when we cleaned and painted them.  I will warn you, it has a very strong smell so you might want to do it when you can have your windows open.  Overall I would say it is a pretty good product.  We are actually in the process of remodeling our kitchen right now.  We got all new cabinets, appliances and I am just waiting for the granite to be installed next week!!!   I can't wait!!!!

Best of luck with painting your parents' countertop!  Let us know how it turns out.

That sounds like a great inexpensive way to change your kitchen. You'll have to

post pictures when you get done. Now you have me thinking

about painting mine. Can't wait to see the end results.
